Meet Our Veteran Crafters at Honey Moon Farms
At Honey Moon Farms, we’re not just about high-quality, organic products—we’re about people. Among our proud team, veterans like Elizabeth Osborne and Garett stand out, bringing unmatched skills and dedication to their craft.
Elizabeth Osborne: From Aviation Electrician to Candle Connoisseur
Elizabeth "Liz" Osborne’s story begins under the sun-kissed skies of South Florida and soars into the disciplined ranks of the Navy. For ten years, Liz served as an Aviation Electrician, where precision and attention to detail were part of her daily routine. Her deployment on the USS Harry S. Truman took her around the world from Dubai to Greece, and Croatia to Bahrain and Oman, fighting against ISIS and serving her country with honor.
Post-service, Liz’s journey into relaxation led her to candle making. Initially a hobby to unwind, it quickly sparked a passion that turned into a small business supplementing her income. Now at Honey Moon Farms, Liz applies her meticulous skills to creating candles that carry the essence of nature. When she’s not perfecting a new candle scent, she’s likely spending time with her pets—Rambo, Tuna, Venus, and Zeus—adding a touch of whimsy to her grounded life. Even though she’s still connected to her naval roots, working on F-18 aircraft as a civilian, her craft at the farm is a new relaxing path.
Garett: A Veteran’s Touch in Every Jar
Garett's roots stretch back to the open fields of Iowa, where he grew up before dedicating six years to the U.S. Army as an Apache mechanic. His service took him from the heat of Afghanistan to the colder climates of South Korea, while his wife supported the Red Cross back in Iowa. After returning stateside, Garett and his family made a significant move back to Iowa, only to find their new home in San Antonio four years later.
Today, Garett combines his mechanical expertise with his role at Boeing and a passion for working on cars in his spare time. At Honey Moon Farms, he brings the same precision and dedication to beekeeping and honey production that he applied in the military. Garett's methodical nature ensures that every product is crafted with the utmost care and quality.
Family is the center of Garett's world. His wife, a talented designer who runs her own business from home, supports their two children, Penelope and Thatcher, with the same vigor she devoted to the Red Cross. The family spends many a weekend at the racetrack, cheering on six-year-old Penelope as she races her kart, showcasing a family spirit of adventure and competition.
Garett’s story is one of dedication— to his country, his craft, and his family. At Honey Moon Farms, he's more than just a veteran; he’s a cornerstone of a community that values hard work, precision, and a touch of weekend adrenaline. Join us in celebrating Garett and the deep care he brings to every jar from Honey Moon Farms.
