Certified Naturally Grown

What is CNG? Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) offers peer-review certification to farmers and beekeepers producing food, flowers, and fiber for their local communities by working in harmony with nature, without the use of synthetic chemicals or GMOs. CNG standards are based on the highest ideals of the organic movement. CNG farmers produce some of the tastiest, healthiest food you can find! The requirements are just as demanding as organic, but many farmers are drawn to CNG’s focus on keeping costs and paperwork to a minimum, and supporting the growth of the movement through education and building strong local food networks. 

While some folks don't know, the alphabet boys don't regulate honey used in the states.. they only regulate whats coming into the states 'as bee food'.... Look at your labels on honey and you'll find that these big HONEY BOTTLERS get their syrup from all over the world, in totes, and cheap cheap cheap!

As all of us Beekeepers say 'know your beekeeper, and then buy their honey'. Its true. BUT, not all beekeepers practice the way we practice our farm operations. 

There are plenty of ways to kill pests and disease in your hives- most of the main stream ways include chemicals. 

NOT US- if you cant eat it without calling poison control, and if its not actively found in nature, its not in or near our hives. We don't buy it. We don't look at it. Its not "real" to us. 

So, I will leave our first blog post as this stands.
